Project 4 Marine Vocational Education

Client

ASTF - Australian Student Traineeship Foundation

Description of project

This project involved writing a position paper on the status of Marine Vocational Education in Australia as well as co-ordinating and supervising of marine programs in 23 schools in Queensland.

Each school was to write a program submission outlining how it would gain employment for students in structured work placements. Wet Paper's role was to evaluate and recommend funding and then to supervise the implementation of the program.

Two three day workshops were organised in Mackay and Surfers Paradise where Wet Paper had to organise travel, accommodation, program, speakers, evaluation as well as all other aspects required by the ASTF.

The outcome was over $150,000 worth of funding approved and more than 200 students in pre-apprenticeship courses.
