Project 3 National Junior Marine Studies Project
Clients Education Queensland, Board of Studies New South Wales, Board of Teacher Education Victoria, South Australian Education Department, Western Australian Education Department, Education Tasmania Description of project This project established a team of teachers from each Australian State and commissioned the writing of 30 chapters to a book aimed at Junior High School on the sea. The chapters and associated activities had to be written and developed to the National Curriculum and be able to be easily adapted to each Australian State. The project team also had to develop a State network to market and promote the book as well as run in-service activities for teachers in their State. The outcome of the project was a 320 full colour page book, 300 page Teachers Guide and the formation of marine subject associations in New South Wales and Western Australia as well as networking with existing Marine Teacher Associations in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland.
